Business Contribution:

This position develops and implements best practice strategies to bring about and sustain change within the Deer Park workshop operations and support the organizations continued aim to deliver exceptional customer service at the lowest cost. This position assists in driving the improvement efforts throughout the Deer Park workshop operations along with coordinating efforts to share and implement best practice solutions throughout the GOM region. This position is responsible for local inventory management of rental and service assets, managing a team of workshop technicians and the day to day workshop operations. A strong customer focus is required with the ability to meet the customer’s needs creatively and aggressively in very short timeframes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drives and co-ordinates operational and associated administrative process improvement using appropriate LEAD tools
  • Identifies the root causes of process failures and facilitates problem resolution utilizing LEAD tools and techniques
  • Lead and manage all ISO efforts in the Deer Park location being the main local contact along with responsibility for related Quality activities
  • Lead, develop and coach a team of full time Workshop Technicians within the Deer Park facility, formally appraising their performance annually, but providing regular performance feedback as necessary and ensuring good communication channels exist
  • Responsible for training of all workshop employees at all positions of responsibility within the workshop
  • Liaise with appropriate centers of excellence and assure standardized work processes are in place for processes performed in the Deer Park location
  • Develop and analyze KPI’s to identify internal issues and implement corrective actions and countermeasure strategies to be taken based on analysis of KPI results
  • Provides support and coaching to workshop employees
  • Manage and supervise a team of technicians and related procedures to assure rental equipment is maintained properly and available on the shelf for all rental requirements including emergency rental situations
  • Responsible for all customer equipment repair and calibration processes assuring all full and complete use of current standardized processes utilized throughout the Western Region
  • Set and maintain housekeeping and workshop standards throughout the local workshop
  • Responsible for inventory management of all rental and service assets
  • Participate in local management meetings to set direction and manage operations of Deer Park
  • Works in a manner which protects the health, safety and welfare of self and others
Required Skills

Required Capabilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; minimum 5 years related experience and/or training in a Lean environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong background in inventory management practices in an operational setting
  • Proven ability to drive change in an environment of continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in driving projects
  • Proficient project management skills required
  • Ability to write reports and relevant business correspondence
  • Computer literate good working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Proven track record of leading and supervising a team of hourly employee’s
  • Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs
  • Experience in operating a forklift
  • Must be available to answer and respond 24/7 calls
  • Must be able to interact with customers
